Partner & Co-founder

Ado

Partner & Co-founder

Abdul Wahab, originally from Central South Lombok, kickstarted his career in the tourism industry when he was 18 as a staff member at a resort in Gili T. His good nature, intelligence, strategic thinking, problem solving and leadership qualities were so impressive that one of the guests at the resort knew he needed to develop his natural abilities further and offered to send him to any university of his choice. Realising the growing regional opportunities in tourism Ado asked her to send him to tourism school where he received his training. Since then he has quickly moved up past management positions to founding several resorts on Gili Air.

A natural entrepreneur, Abdul’s services as a start up consultant are so very much in demand so we feel incredibly blessed to have him co-create Flowers & Fire with us.

Ado is also a philanthropist and even more then his natural business acumen, responsibility for his community is his motivating force. He worked with The Endris foundation to co-found a school in Lombok for children whose families can’t afford school expenses and he is active in promoting ethical pay structures and conditions for local staff on the island.

Despite his many, ever growing projects Abdul’s great dream is to retire on a plot of land and live a quiet life with his wife Uni and family, creating beautiful permaculture gardens.

Mohammed Nasir

Mohammed Nasir

Nasir is our sparkling manager at Flowers & Fire. Nasir, originally from South Lombok, graduated from IKIP University Mataram in 2011 with a first class grade Bachelors degree in English teaching. He worked as an English teacher and manager assistant before taking on his first full management role at Flowers & Fire Yoga. Nasir is also a budding yogi and regularly attends classes at the centre.

Nasir’s great dream is to build an English language and tourism school for the children of his village who do not have access to language or occupational training to help his community benefit from new opportunities in the region.

We hope that Nasir can use his position with us here at Flowers & Fire Yoga as a launching pad to realize this wonderful ambition.

Sahar

Sahar

Sahar is our super duper assistant manager. He is originally from Central Lombok and graduated from SMK Darul Abror NW Kuta tourism school in 2013 before training in the hospitality industry in Lombok. Although he has only just started his practice, Sahar already loves yoga, because he finds it very healthy and good for his fitness.

Sahar’s great dream is to return to his village to start a family, and build his own local restaurant. His house is near the beach so this would be a beautiful location to realize this dream.

We hope that through the training and networks that Sahar can access at Flowers & Fire Yoga, he can work towards realizing his dream.

Indrajaya Kusuma

Indrajaya Kusuma

Indra is our extremely skillful maintenance project manager. With a well travelled background, Indra is originally from Papak in North Lombok. While working for Husein Sastranegara airport in Bandung, Indra travelled and worked in airports in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali. After his return to Lombok to get married, he re-trained in security and worked as a security guard in several 5 star resort hotels and villas in Nusa Dua before moving onto housekeeping in Jakarta where he stayed until he again returned home to Lombok to start a family with his wife. After working locally as a driver, he got a job at a hotel in the Gilis 3 years ago, training and working in housekeeping and engineering/maintenance and ultimately, found his way to Flowers & Fire.

Indra’s great dream is to have his own business. After seeing the possibilities through his travels in so many different places, his vision is to open a Warung and online-gaming house in Mataram. We think this is a very cool idea and would love to find a way to support this dream through training in business development, operations and marketing.

Ahmad Fahrurrozi aka Rul

Ahmad Fahrurrozi aka Rul

Rul is our amazing all-rounder! Originally from Central Lombok Rul went to study at Gecko Geyer Computer & Communications school before moving to Malaysia to work oil production for 5 years. While he liked Malaysia, Lombok always had his heart so he was happy to return home at the end of his contract. Not long after returning he found his lovely wife and has been happily married for 2 years now. Rul and his wife are planning to open a clothing boutique in Central Lombok soon.

His dream is to be a successful business man and for the shop to thrive and comfortably support his family. Even though we don’t want to lose him we are delighted that Rul is working towards realizing his dream and we hope to support him in future by sending him customers when he opens.

The staff were really fun and friendly... I really really recommend this place to stay 100%.
